Cool Broken Jack

So, apparently I have an enemy out there - someone drilled a drill bit into my tire - a 3/16" - about 5" long. Pretty obvious that it was not an accident. Police report has been made - I'm 99% certain I know who it is.

Anywho - at first, the low-air-pressure light kept coming on. I checked the pressure - it was at 36, I had just done my tire rotation and oil change last week with no issues - so I filled it back to 44 and even drove around town. The next day, back in the truck - sensor comes back on. So, I put the spare on. The jack sucks but we keep working it. Getting the bad tire off was easy - but the new one was not so much. And it was only at 36 psi (spare) so it wasn't even completely inflated! About 80% of the way up, the damn end of the jack bar thingy twists and breaks off! F#$@!!! Fortunately, my hubs drives an Explorer and his bar-twisty-thingy was similar to mine so we squeezed a couple more turns out of it.

The 3rd day, I head to Firestone (aftermarket tires - never liked the factory ones - and found out Firestone won the new contract and will be putting tires on the new F-150's - yaaah!) to have them fix it. The tires are 14 months old but I put about 40k on my truck in that same time. They show me the bit they pulled out. At first I just kicked myself - I work in construction, so ***** happens. And then I went out to the garage to shoot the ***** with the guys as the put on all new tires (it was about time anyway - the old ones were 50k tires so I just replaced them all) and one tech says that it looks intentional - the bit damaged tire. Police report has been filed. Just got off the phone with the suspect. He said "Who do you think *at place of work* did it?" "Umm, I never said that anyone there did it." "Oh, yah."

Idiot. I realize it is a long shot but this guy has been embezzeling company funds - 4 grand - for his personal construction company and now THIS! Except he's keeps doing just enough but not enough for there to be proof. F!!! F!!! F!!!

Plus side - my local Ford dealer - they know me as "The girl with the no-bailout truck" - hooked me up. I brought them in the broken piece and they just swapped it out. Probably a cheap piece - but still, that is Ford taking care of me.

And if it wasn't this ******* who damaged my truck - it was probably some chevy fanatic

A ridge hand to the throat will fix his dumb ****. Just sayin' People suck. What reason would the "suspect" have to drill a damn drillbit into your tire?

Well, turning him in for embezzling my federal grant money. He was returning my newly purchased construction equipment for equipment and tools for his private construction company...

Everyone knows the key to my heart is my truck. It is my baby. I'm so furious.

But I posted this to make others aware of the weak jack tool. Suck to be stranded and it break.

Get a small 2 ton hydraulic bottle jack that will fit under your back seat. Problem solved. As for stupid people, they will always be there.

Thanks, Tim!

And I already figured it was time to invest in a better jack. I intend to. I've got a toolbox, so I put all the parts in there, anyway. (I have two little ones - both in carseats - so it would be an absolute bitch to get the jack out on the side of the road... removing both seats to get to it... so I took the kit out and put in the toolbox long ago.) Just going to have to take my fishing stuff out to make room for a bigger jack

Take out the fishing pole, ok, but leave the boomsticks in there. Never know when you might need them

Although the hubs said to pay for a conceal and carry. I keep my pistol at home but it might be time to start traveling with it
