LMC front lowering springs

Has anyone installed the dual leaf lowering springs on the front of their truck? Are they any bettter then mono leaf springs on the front? Does it make a big difference centering the front wheels in the fender well? I am looking at keeping the stock configuration on the front of my truck but want to lower it a bit.

I installed the Posie Super Slide Dual Lowering Springs. Im not sure if they are the same ones LMC sells or not. I dont think my front wheels changed much as far as centering them in the fenders. My stock springs were so worn out I dont think the truck is much lower than it was before. I am running all stock parts up front other than the springs and they fit great. No issues or problems at all.

Centering the front wheels in the fender openings is purely an aesthetics thing. It offers no functional difference. The truck won't drive or feel different from that change alone.

There's been many discussions here on the pro's and con's of mono vs. multi leaf springs, both from a function and a safety aspect.

My preference is for multi-leaf springs, especially in the front. I have a set of the Posies like Dave's waiting in the wings for my project. I got them from Speedway during a free shipping offer. You might check around to know exactly what you're getting before committing with LMC's. I don't know how they compare price-wise with the competition, but if they're half the money, there's a reason.

So 52 Merc you feel that the Posies are multi leaf because they are dual leafs and not a mono? Is there anyone else that has use the Posies duel lowering front springs? I have heard that the monos have a lot of issues. I would like some more opinions on the duel ones.

I think by definition, a multi leaf spring would be a spring pack consisting of more than one leaf. Therefore, two being more than one, I feel that yes, it would be considered a multiple leaf spring.

In my way of thinking, it would be 100% safer in the event one happened to have a leaf failure over a mono-leaf unit. Certainly it would be a rare occurrence, but it could, and has, happened.

I have a pair of good and slightly used front mono-leafs that came out of a 48-52 F1. I believe that these are universal as they're only measured in length when you buy them new, if that makes sense.

PM or email me if you're interested to see them.

1951flatheaddave do you have any pictures you can share? I would like to see how it is setting. I think my stock springs might be sagging also because it already sits lower than i think it would with fresh springs. I als am running 15 inch tires on the front which lowers it some also.

I will take some tonight so you can get an idea of my new ride height. I am running a stock front end minus the poise super slide springs.

I picked up a set of 3" lowering springs from LMC today for my '53. I live in KC and LMC is only 25 miles from my house and it saves me on shipping. The springs through LMC are Posies it has their sticker and instructions attached to them. I hope to get them on tomorrow.
