I want to replace the ignition coil on my 1997 F250 7.5. I took a look at what’s available on the web and found so many to choose from. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
My truck is fairly stock except for a new 3” exhaust. I use the truck for towing my 9000 lb 5<SUP>th</SUP> wheel and that's about it. <o></o>
I am looking for something that is hell for durability and maybe a slight performance improvement over OEM. I’m not interested in replacing the entire ignition system with a bunch of after market equipment.<o></o>
What would you all recommend?<o></o>

 

Then you are stuck with an OE or OEM if you do not want to change the ignition stytem

 

OE is plenty hot.

 

Will the MSD Blaster coil work on the 7.5?

 

Any coil will "work" it is just a matter of how much fabrication you want to do

 

I have used Accel and MSD brand coils on several trucks with good results. The factory piece is pretty good, but after many years of use could stand to be replaced IMHO. A pretty yellow Accel or a red MSD coil looks "racy".
