Carb Kit 66 f100, 240

Ok Guys, Been reading posts for a while now and never posted. But now I need help and I know you guys can do it.
Im working on a 66 f-100 with the 240 and everytime i pop the hood i see a constant drip coming from the carb. I need to either replace my carb all together or get a carb kit for it.
However every time I search for a carb kit all that comes up are for 2 bbl carbs which is not correct. Can anyone help me out with a carb kit part number or a suggestion on a replacement carb?
Any help is appreciated.
Dont be afraid to talk to me like an idiot. I obviously dont know what i am doing.f

Hello and Welcome to FTE, my 66 has a holley 1 barrel carb model 1940.

most trucks came with an Autolite 1100 as stock (see Pic)

google both of these carb numbers and compare them to what you have on your truck.

I have the autolite 1100 on my 240. The only difference between the one pictured and mine is I have a manual choke. I was able to find a rebuild kit at Napa. It was universal so it had a lot of extra parts, but it worked. One warning, my truck sat for 12 years and so when I did the carb, I had to have it boiled out for 2 days to get all the varnish out. It works great now.

The Holley 1940 was a very common carb for many years - you can get a kit at NAPA or most part houses pretty cheap. You might take a few photos before dissasembling to help reassemble, and make sure you adjust the float per the instructions - very straightforward and simple to do. I suspect your float is out of adjustment or damaged which is likely why you're dripping fuel. Don't be alarmed at how many leftover parts you have unused from the kit. Nothing to it - a couple of hours and you'll be in business! May as well pull your fuel filter at the pump as well while you're at it - again, easy to get a replacement at NAPA.
