Aluminum Grill Restoration

Morris I really enjoyed you stopping by this afternoon. After you left I got thinking about aluminum grill restorations on the bump-side (1967-72) pickups so I started to look into it and it's not that difficult. Anything really good I'll post here.

I really enjoyed our visit too, it was nice to put a face to the name and also to see your garage and your F100!
Wow, this is awesome and it sure makes that truck look great.

That is a great little video. Was that Alvin or Simon doing the commentary?

Powder coating in clear is suppose to preserve that finish.

What kind of clear coating would you recommend for some aluminum rims Chris?

I have to polish my rims up on my truck before I throw the new tire on it, and I would like to try some clear to preserve the polish job a little longer.

You'd have to shop around but I think dupli-color makes a clear in a spray bomb for polished aluminum, try asking walkers or acklands. I don't use it, I maintain my rims so you don't need to major polish except every 5 years or so

Thanks Chris, Ill call around and check!

I put on quite abit of kms a year, half on gravel. Its tough to keep up the polishing on the rims, I could use a little added help from some clear coat haha.
