New member.. New truck.. obviously not a new problem..

I just bought a 2012 Ford F250 less than two weeks ago. I have less than 750 miles. And I will be going back to the dealer for my second service on the second "Exhaust Fluid System Failure" message.

The first message threatened to put me in limp mode within 50 miles -- standard message, I guess. This happened on a Saturday Evening. I went and picked up some Blue DEF, topped to .5 gal as the manual states then left a message with Service Dept.. On Monday AM I got a call from the service manager, who refunded me my expenses, after telling me "We think the factory shipped w/o DEF". I'm thinking, ' Is that normal? Shouldn't you be looking into that?' At first they tried to just clear the code, but I made sure they checked the fluid level and they assured me they topped it off. All in all about 1 hour.

Now, here we are, less than 7 days and 200 miles later. When I called Service and asked about how much was added, "Oh, I don't know. They said they filled it." Yeah, obviously. This new message has dropped the threats, though. This time I am being dictated that my speed WILL be limited to 50mph when I restart.. What's funny about that is, I have to drive on an interstate with 70mph speed limit tomorrow morning just to take it back to the service Dept. Looks like I'll be travelin' in the granny lane...

Had same thing happen to me last weekend 2012 F-350 with 2200 miles display said DEF system fault. will idle in 50 miles in 22 miles it cleared itself on my way to dealer!
