Break in procees for 408W?

Anybody have some break in oil suggestions and how i should go about breaking my motor in? im a few days away from cranking it up for the first time. Ive heard a few different ways of reaking it in, letting it run at 2500 RPM for twenty minutes and repeating that a few times, any suggestions? Thanks

I broke my Y block in about like you describe, using Brad Penn break in oil. Same caveats, flat tappets. I wish you a good break in. I am running Rislone high Zink additive in my other flat tappet engines.

Just went back and read your header and don't know if you have flat tappets or not. With the flat tappets you need a full supply of lubrication on the cam and lifters but I guess you need that on any cam assembly.
