Any experience installing Rancho QuickLifts struts???

Does anyone on here have any experience installing the Rancho QuickLift front struts? From what I've read and watched, I simply unbolt the upper control arm and unattach the original shock, and just replace it with the QuickLift shock and put everything back together. Simple, right?

Well I've had trouble getting the control arm bolt unhinged because it is corroded over. I've also taken to a shop that said I will have to replace my drop links on both sides because the shock won't have enough room to fit. But I have yet to see this issue with anyone installing these QuickLifts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just want to get these put on and not worry about it anymore.

I have a 2009 Ford F150 XLT RWD

Try another shop. You do NOT have to replace parts to fit the QuickLifts.

I didn't install mine myself in the end, I had a local indie shop do the work (~$188USD for install and alignment). Because of this, I don't know what they had to undo to complete the swap.

A couple of things first. Watch lots of videos. I would soak nuts and bolts overnight with PB blaster. A couple of wacks with a BFG usually pops the Upper control arm loose from the spindle. Make sure you unbolt or disconnect all wiring per the install instructions. Nothing worse than damaging ABS sensor wiring or the like. Also make sure the part numbers for the Quicklifts are correct. They are different for the 2wd. Also, they are side specific so make sure that is correct. The easiest way to get the strut in may be to loosen the lower control arm. You need it to drop more since the strut is getting longer. I was able to pry the bottom of mine in but it is not easy.
