Frame repair and strengthening

Howdy my favorite guys on FTE!!!! Missed you all!!! Lol

Anyways I have been able tog et back into my Hi Boy build and I am now currently stripping down the frame to clean it and strengthen it since I plan on sled pulling it.

Anyways here is the pics of the rust I have uncovered thus far

I dont have another frame to use for 'Fish Plating' and my idea is using some plate steel behind some of it and using some cut C-Channel (Pretty much cut into big angle iron) for other. I think by welding them into place, does anyone think my idea is a bad idea? I hope not cause its the only real good way to go about it lol.

Make plate to slide in the frame rail that's like 3 ft long. And bolt it every foot with like 5/8" grade 8 bolts and bolt a flat piece on the out side.

I may do that but I plan on welding it for added strength, plus Ineed to add some plate to make my conversion to 'Low Boy' style springs.

Yea I'd weld it too. Bolts give it that extra insurance as well. I need to head up your way sometime and check that truck out.
