Hello. Navigator problem Lean/ maybe other vac leaks

Wow I did not even realize this forum was here. I spend my time in the 7.3 forum for my work truck, but now I will have to split some time it looks like.

The wifes 03 navigator is throwing the lean codes. I did some searching and it looks like vaccum is one of the main colpruits. The 90 elbow on the top center of the engine was trash, well I found a set of mallory spark plug cables that I was not using and took an end of one and it fit nice, cleared the codes with the AE yesterday and waiting to see if the light comes on again. It still feels a little rough when we stop at a sign or light.
I know there is talk of a kit for the vaccum lines. Does it have everything I need? are there more elbows or lines that should be looked at and replaced? Or maybe some sensors? I dont have a problem spending the time and money on the right parts. I just need to know what they are and best place to get em.
I am glad I realized we had a place here on FTE for the Nav. I posted on lincoln vs cadillac yesterday with over 30 views and no replys.

thanks all

Have AE display the short and long term fuel trims for each bank. If the sum of the short and long trim is > ~28%, you still have a lean situation.

Watch the trims as you spray carb cleaner around the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. If there is not change, there is probably no vacuum leak there.

sounds good. Thank you for the reply. The wife drove it probably over a 100 miles yesterday with no engine light. So that is a good sign I guess. I think I might try to find the kit that replaces all of that stuff anyway. I plan on driving it from Kansas City to Venice Florida and back in July and I don't want any surprises on the trip. Again I don't mind spending the money on the stuff. Just need to know where it is and where to get the new parts.
It has 130k on it now and I think I will just do a good tune up on it. Any recommendations on what plugs, wires, etc. to use or other things that I may need to look at will be greatly appreciated.
thanks again
Joe
