Sorry, for an extremely late reply. Thank you for the welcome guys. Is a 65' with a 352 and a 4 barrel holly supposed to get 8 mpg? lol. Do the Arizona guys meet up at all?

Febuary was the last get together... there is a group of us that meet up and tinker with trucks once in a while. i also have a 65... 2 1966's and 2 1963's

No. Put a 390 in it and you can get 9 MPG. Or even 10, with a tailwind.

I put a new Edelbrock on it a couple days ago, we will see if that helps.

I need to find some parts, but the last few trips to the South Phoenix yards didn't prove to be fruitful. Any leads on yards with reasonable parts?

Parts

Rear window and hood hinges. I read somewhere on the forum to weld a bolt in place of the rivet on the hood hinge and double nut it. Anyone ever have luck with that?

I have a couple of rear windows and i might have a set of real nice hood hinges... i will have to look.

BTW the Edelbrock made a huge difference on that 352. The Holly was 750 cfm off an early 80's motor home, I may have been a wee bit over sized on the carburetor.
