Anyone have trouble with their power windows going slow up and down?

My passenger door did and I even resorted to taking the door apart before I realized it wasn't the x bracket thingy (regulator?) but the channels that the edges of the glass slid up and down on. Just sprayed silicone spray in the channels and rolled up and down a few times and worked great.

Silicone is a very short term fix. The guide channels have felt on them that wears off. The entire guide channel must be replaced. Once the felt wears off it's window against rubber. The rubber grabs, tilts, and even locks the window in place I ordered a new one from an on-line Ford discount dealer for about $60.00 and will install on the next nice day we get. This happens on the driver door most frequently since thats the one going up and down the most. My brothers Toyota has the same problem.

No, just remove the door panel and follow the directions in a good basic repair manual like "Haynes" You remove the glass by unbolting a few fasteners and pull the glass. Then you remove a few more fasteners and replace the window channel. Once the window is out you will see an amount of rubber build up on the glass wear it has been rubbing, that has to be cleaned off with some brake clean or acetone, then reinstall everything and your window will glide up and down again smoothly, unless it's been doing this so long as to have worn out the regulator and gear slide assembly. In that case they may have to be replaced to as needed.
Up here in Northern MN. are automotive glass windows frequently freeze shut and won't come down until the sun gets at them, the vehicle warms up, or the air does. That causes a lot of wear and tear on the innards of the electric window mechanisms hastening there eventual failure. I'll start with my window channel first and move on from there.
