Thank you Hamfisted. I took it to one of the Ford dealership here in Renton WA to have the a/c check. I did not have them fix it because it will cost arms and legs. To make the story short, after a week when I tried to use the heater and try to change the direction of the air flow, it only blows from the defroster. When I opened the hood, I noticed these two lines been cut. I never trusted that place afterward or any shop for that matter.

I'm having the same issue can you guys take a pic of more from the top and closer to the fender? I think someone has butchered mine as we'll and I'd like to see what it is supposed to look like. There is a valve further back with two vacuum fittings and an electrical fitting. My he is also stuck on defrost but I don't want to disconnect other lines and have something else not work.

Thanks

What was the original problem with the A/C system ? If it was a vent directional problem the lines were probably already broken off. Without that black vacuum line attached you will have nothing but defrost. Without the grey line attached you will have no heat.

Lawdog take/post a pic of your truck under the hood of the area you are interested in...

I can't figure out how to attach photo from my iPad. My issue is my heat is stuck on defrost I have the same broken vacuum line but where you are saying to attach the broken line already has something hooked to it as well as the white T that is supposed to be a dead end or block.

Clay

You need to make a Photobucket account and upload pics there then just copy the link and post it here. It's really hard to troubleshoot stuff like vacuum lines without pics of what you're talking about. But anyway here's a wider field of view of that area.

OK I think I got that problem fixed. I found another broken vacuum line right next to the abs sensor and lf back 2 valve cover any ideas? I'm also getting the dreaded P0345 and 349 codes. And I still can't figure out how to download pics.

I had to block off that T connection Ur was not a closed circuit I put a little spit on the end and it sucked it right up. I capped it and everything worked.

Still the same. Do you a picture of how your lines are set up from the firewall to to where they are suppose to be connected? I looked at an '01 and '03 and it's different from my '05. Thanks

Any help would be appreciated. Pics would be fantastic.

Do you have any idea what line size it is to splice the broken line back together. Mine is not totally broken but it is definitely cut. Any suggestions on where to find the parts?

Your local checkers should have a section of just vacuum stuff. I bought hose and spliced into mine. It works great. The pos 5.4 is another story. First and last ford I'll ever buy.

Yes, the black line goes to that pancake looking check valve fitting you are pointing at. You'll have to get some vacuum tubing to make up the connections.
Nothing goes on that other white line plug, it should just be there to seal the line, it should be sealed if it is not already. Put a cap on it to seal it.
There should be no vacuum leaks in any of the lines under the hood !
Who the hell's been under the hood of your truck ?

Any idea of the vacuum line size or how to splice those back together if they are cut?
