1978 f600 dump truck

I bought a 1978 f600 dump truck. Its spitting hydraulic fluid from one of the lift cylinders. I was looking online to find a replacement but can't find anything.

anyone know where to buy a replacement?

thanks

Is there a brand name on the hoist?

You may have to search around on it, scrape some crud etc.

Now while you are doing that, be sure you have TWO sturdy supports under that bed. And someone standing by to warn you of any movement while you are under it.

The mortuary charges extra to re-inflate you after you are crushed, and there is a hydraulic oil removal surcharge as well.

i will get to scraping and see what I can find.

I'll also head your advice... pretty sure I cannot squat the dump bed lol

Hey ... check me on my thinking here... If one cylinder is leaking pretty good then it would seem to me that its the other cylinder holding up the bed. If i'm hauling light material... could I shut off fluid to the leaky one and let the one cylinder do the lifting?

It may still be lifting. You could try that, but examine the set up. Is there a chance for an uneven lift or binding?

As for repair, you can search by the brand and "parts" or "repairs" and find:

Well i disconnected the hydraulics to the leaking cylinder. Of course the bed lifts unevenly at first but seems to lift fine all the way up and back down.
