Idi turbo diesel glow plug problems
Hi I am new to the site I have a 1994 f250 with the turbo diesel idi originally when the problem started I started my truck in the morning but had to go back on and get something so I shut it off was running for prob 2 mins and yes I know it's not good for a diesel. So when I went to start it back up glow plug light came on for correct time then when I went to start. Nothing so I left the key on and popped the hood and one of the top of the glow plugs was smoking and the and the and the jumper from the glow plug relay to the controller was smoking as well. I believe my glow plug harness is gone and there impossible to find so my question is there any way to bypass the glow plugs completely and I can just plug the truck in I have replaced the glow plug relay as well any one have any ideas I am really getting frustrated ask any help is appreciated thanks

Without the glow plugs, the only way I know of to start your truck would be with ether(starting fluid). You have to be careful using it though, just a quick half second shot in the intake tube is usually all it takes, use to much and you could be replacing your motor. You need to make sure your glow plugs are completely deactivated though, if they heat up with the ether in the system, results can be catastrophic. If you look around here, you may find the directions on how to manually activate your glow plugs via push button.
