Used manual hubs+spindle nut convert to replace autos?

Junk yard down the road has several trucks with manual hubs I can snag for $5/pair. I figure I could look for the nicest set, pull em, then buy the conversion kit. My autos are stuck locked and I wanna swap asap. Seem like a practical idea?

Why not just grab the spindle locknuts from the truck and use those to convert yours? Then you don't need to buy the kit.

I'll try to find one thats off the ground to do that. Also will need to grab a socket before the trip. Wasn't sure if there was a difference in the spindle nuts that would require the conversion on the auto spindle.
