states towing laws campers

State by state towing laws, weights requirements etc. Interesting that in NC max speed with camper is 55. Too slow with 3.73's haha. Also says passengers can ride in a TT. Who knew??

Yeah, 65 - 70 is the sweet spot for my Excursion. 55 has to downshift too much.

Yeah, I guess it's not really enforced. I drive around 65 but other campers pass me like going much faster, I have never seen one pulled.

Most states (if not all) are 55 when towing. Yeah, I'm good around 65 or so!

I just came back from a trip to S.C. through a little bit of N.C. Va. and W.Va.
No problems driving 60 to 65 on the whole trip.

I will have to see if I can investigate into this. My combo stinks at 55. I have to run in 3rd and my tranny temp spikes. If I run in OD at 55 my EGT spikes. 65 is right on for my set up

I know it's 55 here in California. Last November, I pulled the TT to Phoenix area to visit my mom...going along 65-70...CHP (the "unmarked" all-white version) pulled alongside, looked at me, and gave me the 55 sign (opened and closed his hand twice...) Much better than a ticket!!! Got into AZ and cruised along at 70-75 no trouble!!

Most 15" ST tires are only rated for 65 mph, and with so many Tire failure complaints on the RV.NET forum, I drive under 65.
