Cluster for 1990 F350

I bought a 1990 F350 and I want to see if it has the right cluster or not. The one there shows to be replaced from a yard. The one in it now has no Tach. I've got a 1990 F150 auto and a 1989 F250 straight shift and they both have Tachs, but they're not Customs. It's a 1990 F350 Custom 5.8 Automatic with OD. Thanks in advance.

The tachometer/trip odometer were an option.

Thanks, how would one go about finding out which it was suppose to have? Or would either work?

You could swap in a tach cluster no problem, just make sure it's from an 87-91 truck and nothing newer.

Thanks all. I found a cluster that has the tach and if they'll swap out with no problem I think I'll swap them.

It was possible to have a premium cluster in a Custom truck... just like you can have almost all the options of the XLT in a Custom, but in the Custom, you have to buy them all separately, while in the XLT, some come as a package.

I swapped in a 1987 tach cluster in my '89 F150. Was a plug and play deal. Only thing I had to do, was replace the oil pressure sender on the engine with a 1987 one, as 1987 was a unique year for the oil psi gauge, it was actually a real live gauge. It goes up with revving the engine, and comes back down as revs come down. Like in Chevys.

Also for the auto trans, the gear selector can be replaced/switched from cluster to cluster, my tach cluster was in a standard truck, it just had a black plate in place of the auto's gear select.

Heres a pic of what mine looks like cruising at 55, fully warmed up (hadn't changed the oil sender yet, that's why oil gauge was pegged like that)

That looks good. I think I'll buy the cluster with the Tach and swap them out. Thanks for the tips on this. I'm not sure what model of truck then cluster is on though, it's on ebay. I gotta a few things to do on this one, probably should do some other stuff but I'll feel better with this for now.

I got it in and made sure it was from a 1990. Works right off bat, no extra wiring needed. I thought maybe it would be like the 2nd Gen Camaros where you had to rewire and hard wire it to work. It worked fine without one but since the 89 and other 90 have a tach I wanted one in it too. Trip meter is good too, until I figure out why the key has to be off to register whats in the tank.
