Hi,

I'm curious what the difference is with the 1988 Ford F-150 and a 1994 Ford F-150, both have the 300 motor.

I want to take the motor out of my 1994 Ford F-150 and put it into the 1988 Ford F-150, Will this work? Is there any differences between them?

Unless it's EFI, thats the only difference IIRR.

 

It should work. Just make sure the sensor and stuff off the 88 4.9 get onto the 94 4.9 when you drop it in the truck.

 

Only difference is 87-89 300's had a electric injector rail cooling fan. Other years didn't have that.
