the official OBS diesel off topic thread
Having done this exact job, I would recommend using the truck crane/truck to transport the engine across the yard and deposit it on the engine stand when you only have to move it 10' or so. We almost tipped my engine over rolling it in the garage on smooth concrete... couldn't imagine trying to navigate rough terrain.

Compression Results
Just thought I would put these up here. The engine us coming out for an oil pan swap and I have too clean all the diesel out of the cooling system.
This is a cold engone and the reason for the test was to consider a rebuild.
1 340psi
2 340psi
3 360psi
4 320psi
5 340psi
6 340 psi
7 380psi
8 315psi
I suspect the oring in the compression tester fitting that is down at the glow plug adapter. I will swap it out and test 8 again. It test twice at 315 and once at 290.
please comment.
thanks everyone!

Yeah Arron. I swapped the little oring and it tested the same. So I'll leave it at that for now. Number 2 jumped 20psi on the second pass. I could pull the head and have a look or I'll look in the cylinder when I pull the pan.
After the compression test today number 8 is the only concern. I may pull the head but I'll do another compression test on that cylinder.
Jim will be getting the injector that I messed up next week some time. I am sure every one agrees enough good can't be said about him. Thanks Jim and the Rosewood crew!
I have a coolant system pressure tester hooked up and am sitting at 13psi with no obvious leaks. I am afraid to go hog wild on the pressure because it could break other parts ie radiator, heater core etc. Is there a safe limit?

Very nice!
I would probably settle for 15 lbs. that will show you any flaws. Pay attention to the ends of the hoses, I have had problems with hose clamps causing problems that a shop could have blamed other problems and charged big money for
