Good for you, Aaron! That's a sweet little rig. That should prove to be really useful for you.

Here's a quick pic of a little project I've been working on lately. Sort of a similar theme...

That's an early 70's model Wheel horse that's been in my family since new. It was in need of a motor swap so it's getting an upgraded Kohler K series and some much needed love. I doubt I'll use it to mow very much, but it'll be a nice little utility tractor to use around the yard. It's up and running now and parked up in the barn.

What's up, Bill!? Good to see you drop in here for a quick minute. Hope you're doing well down there in God's country.

I am considering pulling the engine for a bit of work primarily the oil pan. Is there a list of things to consider doing?

Hi Bill! I kicked the rats and racoons out of the shed. I think it'll fit an engine stand now, shop would nice though

Aaron that is an awesome little tractor!

The oil cooler will get done.

I posted somewhere, one time, a long time ago my compression numbers. I cannot find my notes on them however I will do another test and may consider a rebuild. Nick sent a video of his truck cold starting and there aren't any elephants running around the truck.

Looks like a JD 330 or 332. I know a guy that runs one with a turbo to get a few more HP for plow days.

I own the big brother 430 diesel and I have a pair of 1969 JD 140 with a kohler 14hp that I mow and throw snow with.

great forum for older JD LGTs I have been on for many years

Nice Adam!

I am looking at making an engine stand from scrap steel I have kicking around. I have 20' of 2"×6" .25 wall tubing in various lengths.

We will use a truck crane to pull the engine in the drive way and then I'll roll the whole mess through the yard to the shed where it will get taken a part for a refresh. Our yard isn't flat or smooth so I am thinking off road style stand.

I'd suggest solid steel casters and a few sheets of 3/4" plywood instead of rubber tires on an engine stand. You don't want that weight to get leaning too far over for any reason while you're working on it and a flat tire would make me nervous. Big steel casters, sure. But stay away from balloon tires.
