No fork on a SBF ZF. You have to drop the whole trans to replace the internal slave and throw out bearing. Not a hard job, but if your limited on time with other projects, yeah...

Ugg like a m5od. It's been too long I guess?!?!
Fail on my part..
I have swapped the enter zf5 system on the side of the road. The clutch was a little hard to use at first but a few towns later it was good to go.
The M5OD on the other hand is a full removal and I believe the exhaust goes under as well so it will be a bit of fun messing with rusted exhaust bolts.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but your 351 will have a ZF with the internal slave exactly like the M5OD.
Zf's have pto plates on the sides. m5od's don't.
Some 5.8 had m5od's. there re 3 versions of the m5od
This is definitely a ZF.
I have gravity fed the system and have no pedal pressure or return.
I will have a throw out bearing on hand but I suspect there will be other issues as well due to the noises that were coming put of the thing when I was moving it without a clutch.
I am worried the bearing went through the fingers on the clutch pressure plate... Is that possible?
There are no fingers. Just a big azzz spring, and that's not the problem. seal probably popped.
sit on the rocker panel and push pull the clutch pedal about a hundred times, you will feel the clutch pedal come up.
if it goes back down by morning trans has to come out
It should have a bunch of fingers like you said and if the bearing has been wearing for awhile, it could break through. This is what mine looked like on my PSD. Not the same clutch, but looks similar.

Thank you. Due to the variety of noises coming from the bell housing I am expecting the worst. I have ordered a pilot bearing and may have to order a new clutch as well.
Edit:
The details. The clutch pedal went to the floor and did not return I lifted the pedal with my foot. I was able to put the truck into gear and it did not move infact I was able to shift through all gears with no response. At this point I put the truck in neutral and pushed it back down the road to the next turn out. I tried the clutch again with no results but it would not go into gear. So I shut it down and started it in gear and drove it into a parking lot. After the initial failure I swapped the master cylinder because fluid was leaking in to the cab. I was not able to get the clutch to work so I started the truck in gear and drove it to a local yard I can use occasionally. Anyway it is there and waiting for me to fix it. I could drive it home with out the clutch but that could get messy with traffic and a stop light on a hill.

Reason: More information
When my f 350 did that, the spring came from behind the bearing, and the bearing just sat there.
clutch ws fine, but I replaced it anyway. had it apart, why not do t all at the same time......
The clutch on the one I pictured above was good too, just needed the new throw out bearing. ( concentric)
