I couldn't help myself today and went to look at this: https://rapidcity.craigslist.org/cto...879438194.html
On the phone he told me it needed a rear main seal. Knowing that these have pretty good rear main seals I started thinking that it might just be a hpop blown hose, oil rail plug leaking, pedestal O rings leaking etc. letting oil run down the back of the trans. He said his mechanic said the motor had to be pulled to fix it. On the phone he said 3K without a trade so I thought I could go steal it for half that, tow it home with a simple fix! He pops the hood and it was a 94 with a IDI turbo. I asked him why he advertised it as a 95 not a 94! I was disappointed because basically it was a pretty good truck!

Well darn Glenn. That could have been handy around the farm.
You going to the farm since you are in that neck of the woods?

Ha, its not a farm, more of a small ranch. The neighbor runs a few cows on it and that's about it. A four wheel drive here would be nice and if I would just get off my *** I could and eventually will fix the 80 F250 4by4 302 my Dad had. It sat to long and I 'think' the valves are sticking. It will barely run but sitting has taken its toll. A PSD would have been better!!

As Paul Harvey would say, The rest of the story.

The truck on the left is a low Km 5.8 truck. Originally bought for its cab but it leaks at the gutters which is now fixed and needs a full harness swap for the diesel engine so it is going back up for sale, cause I am lazy.

The dually in the back is a 96 xlt with a 7.3 trans is out because it doesn't work. It has a bunch if work partially done. For me it's an engine, a cab and a frame.... Seems like it may be easier to swap 4x4 under it and a zf5. I wouldn't mind giving the auto a try as I am lazy and pedal pressure for the high power rated clutch sucks.

Any way parts show.

Is there a supplier for seat upholstery? I have washed and cleaned the seats that were in the other truck and they will be okay but I wouldn't mind new fabric.

It took everything put of the donor truck and hosed it down and used a shop vac to suck out the mud, hair, farts, and cat barf.

I'll have to cut the cab for the exhaust and patch it all up nicely before the swap goes but for now it's getting cleaned up!

Marathon seat covers! Cleanable and tougher.
They fit tight as upholstery.

Thanks Aaron

Expensive but I like the customizable fabric and two tone choices. I think for now I will tolerate wet dog.

Good enough for now. I can now use them while the other cab gets prepared.

Do the cabs come with some sort of gray foam in the rear corners?! Both sides have a very professional looking plug.

From what I could tell yea it seems they are filled with some foam crap. I was trying to inner coat Clifford before I painted inside every cavity I could find.

I am looking through the Summit catalog and see 12v vacuum pumps that will hold 15-20 in.Hg

This has me thinking of getting rid of the vacuum pump.

There was a hydro boost kit as well. Looked to be a direct replacement for the brake booster.

I need to get sound mat sorted. It's hard to stay focused!
