I've never run into what he's run into. Must be the drain spilled over, and corroded it to the steel surround.
Probably going to be a mess when he gets it out

I have slid a putty knife on the sides. It is definitely corroded. I am not able to slide the knife in at the top on the flat or the bottom. I will keep trying and may take the fender off, but at that point I am half way to a cab swap right?

Cab swap not so bad.
If you take the inner fender down, you can get to it pretty good.

Maybe take the tire of if your a little larger than average

It took a lot of hammering and swearing but it is finally out. I am surprised it runs. Maybe it won't after all the hammering.....

The truck did run prior to me removing this piece but I was always fighting weird start and power issues. I decided to pull it so I could clean the contacts and install the Hydra. Once I got it out all the memories came back from prior diagnostics indicating it could be a problem with the ecu... Well to that I say yes probably now that I see the darn thing.

FYI vinegar in a spray bottle, spray it down from every side you can get to and let it soak overnight. The vinegar will eat the corrosion.

I also would check the caps, there is a big problem with the gas pcm's from the early 90's start at 94, the first year for maf in pick ups.

I imagine that goes over to diesel

I like what Mike said, because I see a lot of water corrosion on that board that is a big issue right there
