I add some ATF to the fuel in my old Massey Ferguson. I pretty sure the 7.3 would run it but there are better options if you are concerned about fuel

I'm only concerned about making windows in my pistons Ben. My wife refuses to make curtains for pistons lol.

Years ago I used to make a cocktail out of two cycle oil and power service but quit that.

with the IDI engines, we fill the fuel filter with ATF, then fire the engine and let it idle for 30-45 seconds and shut it off. let it sit for 24 or more hours to let the ATF do it's thing. then fire it up and drive it like ya stole it.
the ATF dissolves any crud that accumulates in the injector pump and injectors.
running it like ya stole it blows it all through the injectors where it gets burned off.
it is amazing how much better the engine runs after an ATF treatment!!
i do it once a year.

Glenn, the outside diameter of the springs is 1.354, so the ones that guy suggested should work. The bigger ones you looked at I dont think will fit in the head seat. I don't have my heads back yet or I could tell you for sure. The smaller ones should work though.

I do have my shims though. I will measure them and text you when I get home in a little bit.

1.437 is what you want.

Ordered 1.437's shims and mic, spring compressor on its way. I'm running out of excuses.

Thumbs up

Christmas music on the radio here now even!!! Thanksgiving has not even happened yet.

My shims were from Jegs. BTW, could 'shim' be another term for a tranny? Pre or post op.

I believe it's pressure plate issues. The trans is great except for the gap between 3rd and 4th. That shift is tough pulling heavy uphill.

Sometimes I wish I could run an automatic Glenn. I know BTS and John Woods build great transmissions, but I guarantee I could push them to their limits here. That particular mountain that Aaron and Todd are talking about, Gauley Mountain, I have made as many as three trips a day pulling heavy up and down that thing. I'm not saying that one of those two autos wouldn't hold up to it, but I would have to put them to the test to make a believer out of me.

That's a good one being stock. On my way to Nate's I got stopped by a left turner on a pretty steep hill. I thought OMG, is this trans going to handle this. I had the Travel Supreme pulling the Geo, probably 18K and it did it! lol.
