Electric fan for hopped up 390

Have a 390 fe i am putting into a 1977 f150 stepside and need to know which electric fan will meet my needs.
and also which radiator is better for the fe.
I can run the 335 series rad thats in the truck
or get the fe rad from my 74 highboy that i am also getting the engine perches from.

I will be using the truck for mud racing. but when the season is over the 5.38 gears are coming out for 4.11's... and the truck will be used as a daily driver.

If your wondering i bought the truck on friday and havent got to the sandblasting stage yet.and the rollbars gotta go

I like the truck

How/where do you get the stepside short bed for it?

Truck came factory with it.
I'm sure some company makes a replacement.

Gotta wonder if an electric fan will survive getting buried in mud?? Just curious.

I'd run the biggest radiator you can get if you are worried about heating up(and with mud I suppose it will clog up quickly). Not that the motor will get hotter then any other motor, but with all the mud, I suppose it can clog up the fins and not get much air flow in a short time.

BTW, neat truck. I kinda like the rollbar. Gives it that pure '70's look, which I like. Back in late 70's, early 80's there was an orange long bed like that running around town. Turbine wheels, big roll bar. Very tough looking truck.

Putt, I know they make repop beds for the 50's era trucks, I wonder how they fit newer trucks. I saw 60-70's model step fenders at Columbus swap meet this past weekend.

I bought the biggest radiator I could find....
$200 460 aluminum radiator off ebay.
It's been a few years and it's held up with no problems.

Just to test it out I ran around in the south georgia summer with no fan. Temp would climb slowly to 205 and shoot down to 190 in like 1.5 seconds at a traffic light as soon as the thermostat opened.
That works for me....

I do like it to but it is a little heavy for my build.
As for the mud on rad it shouldn't even be a problem.
The mud racing I do is like drag racing. Usually over within 10 sec.
I also will be drag racing this truck at the community drags.
I will post up videos don't worry.
I think this truck with 5.38 gears and 33" tall 14.5" wide slicks should pull a premium over a s2000.

10 seconds is a long time in the mud. I'm usually through the deep **** in 31/2 to 4 seconds.

I'm giving room for bad pits and broken parts. My average last year was under 7 seconds.
I have a unusual habit of drawing a number to cut the path.
