FYI my insurance company said they don't factor in miles on the truck to figure a price, only truck year and options. I have Allied insurance (Owned by Nationwide)

AFA the wheels go, the VIN # or any pictures could be used as evidence of what wheels/tires it had on it.
I had no idea that there was a state law about % loss. The insurance company (Cincinnati Insurance Company ) valued it at somewhere around $27,000, which is roughly the clean retail value according to the NADA. When it first happened I was almost positive they would total it. I was shocked when I found out they were going to try and fix it. I think they have figured $17,000 worth of repairs. $17,000/$27,000=0.629x100=62.9% which is in that range. I was looking at the repair sheet they had so far and I think the reason they are fighting the 20 inch wheels is that the added cost of 20's is going to push it over the limit and they will be forced to total it. In my opinion, I would rather have them total it than try and fix it. I don't think it will ever be quite the same.

That's interesting I've never heard that. That doesn't make any sense to me. It seems that you would be much more likely to total a truck with 200k on it as compared to one with 50k on it.

here in Utah its 80% any more to fix and its a total

Wife slide off thee road this winter totaled her car it worked great them retards tried to say it had a bent frame and stuff it wasnt guess they cant figure a manufactuture contour vs a Bend the dude at shop said Be best just to let this go Cuz I was really fighting them on it I didnt know the total thing was going to work so good he was up to 5600.00 repair

Right out the shoot something wrong when they charge 5600.00 (80% was hitiing in the 4k range IIRC) and I did it for 400.00 and a weekend my time

they totaled it paid it off then gave me 600.00 bucks after I took car back it took me 400.00 in parts to get it going again replaced steering knuckle rims cv axel Easy

Car paid off worked out Awesome took the old lady out to eat on the 200.00 left over

Ya if it books at $$27,000 I know the truck looks bad now but its not even close to total

my litttle car only booked at 5600.00 it was almost paid off NOW IT IS

I would think so as well...

Parts are stolen, so it doesn't cost them anything but the labor to put them into the other vehicle.

Not even a cold...

If you ask me, sometimes the security guards are in on the jobs and are conveniently "not around" when something like this happens....

They will do the best they can to weasel you out of the money they should pay you for the truck.

Pictures are indisputable proof that the truck had 20 inch wheels on it when insured, but an "As-Built" data sheet from Ford is proof positive if they still want to argue with you.

Hi,
Sorry to hear this happened. The guy that lived next door had his son's truck stolen
and they got it back 2 months later. The only thing the cops found was the frame and some sheet metal and get this The insurance co wanted to fix it.

Stupid, god my stuff has been broken into here in tx, But not stolen yet i am just waiting. That's why i have not done anything bad *** to it yet really i do not want something to happen to it.
Sad when a good hard working man with nice trucks and what not can't even have a descent vehicle anymore without some low life ***** coming a long and f****** stuff up for us.... sad

I hope yall figure something out, will insurance pay for anything?

EDIT: I read the rest, Damn insurance they did the same when i had a head on collision. The did not pay anything but doctor bills. Out a car.

Wow my 2006 F250 6.0 just booked out at $17,000 even though I bought it 22 month ago for $26,500

Dealer gave me $16,000 even though it had dvd player, pioneer head unit, mbrp exhaust, bed cover, tinted windows, edge gauges, linexed bed and other extras.

I'd make them total it.

damn, mines a bit different. 13,000 miles (ish) on the odometer

zip code 96818 (Oahu Hawaii)
Trade: $28,278 @ KBB
Trade: $28,625@ NADA

Sell Private: $33,518 @ KBB
Sell Private: $32,750@ NADA
zip code 76513 (Central Texas)
Trade: $28,400 @ KBB
Trade: $28,625 @ NADA

Sell Private: $33,647 @ KBB
Sell Private: $32,750@ NADA

Pretty solid prices from here to there. I love hearing guys say the 6.0 doesn't hold it's value. Mine is 6 yrs old and is still worth $30k. I could probably get almost $35k selling it to some junior Marine/Sailor wanting a monster truck.

I'd be pissed if somebody hit my truck . I can only imagine the fight with insurance company
