Interesting, my over $2000 Firestone Tech R4 kit did not come with a heat shield for the passenger side bag.
and there is nothing fancy about this thing..
flat sheet metal, with a long leg and short leg. short leg goes between bag & frame. the hole in the short leg is 30% of the size of the leg, so you can wiggle the thing around a little.. short leg is size of the bag top,
long leg is twice the size of the bag top.
(the airbag with the 2535 kit has one big mounting bolt on top.. the air goes thru that post.
the bend is 1/2 inch away from the bag top edge when in position.
I had the same type of shield on my GMC with an Air Lift kit.
My list of things to do is to make a similar shield out of some aluminun sheet I have laying around.
I will check on it tomorrow. I did see two notches on bottom bracket and moved it to the rear but still needs to move one more notch to the rear for it to be lined up. Thanks Sam I will check it in the morning. If I move it forward it would be way out of line.
I did the wiggling around like you said and got it as good as I could. I don't see it as problem but wanted to ask if anyone else had that same thing. I will revisit it tomorrow again to see if I missed something.
Thanks

Mine is slightly off center as well (towards the rear) but I remember I tried the other hole and it was way worse. I haven't notice any trouble and I have towed several times since the install and all has been great.
Slight misalignment is by no means the end of the world. If you are able to "wiggle it" into a better position that should only help the matter. The same type of bags are used in far worse scenarios you just get the most direct lift from everything being parallel.
Not to hijack the thread but I have a question. I'm planning on putting air bags on my truck and can't use the kit that puts the bags inside the frame rail like posted above since the 5" exhaust I have would be in the way.
Any advantage/disadvantage to using the kit that mounts the bag above the spring/outside the frame rail? That's what I plan to install at some point in the near future. Seems most everyone uses the kit that puts the bag inside the frame rail and directly on top of the axle.
I realize I would have to drill holes in the frame for the upper bag mounts and that's no problem.
