What could that "wire" be if it don't have a "wire" inside it? We use Thermistors on aircraft that have small braided cables. The Avionics guys are very picky about even bending these cables. One of my MAC automotive meters has a temp cable with a small probe on the end, very odd feeling lead same as the aircraft stuff. Maybe it's somthing like that? I do know they cannot splice these cables, they come pre-made and if there's a problem they replace the whole thing.

Where did you guys see his pic. All I seen was bismics album sample of a fan harness of the wiring? Or was that skyline pic via bismics album?.....

Old thread but my fan just chopped its harness up and I also saw a blue wire in the cut up part. It don't believe it is supposed to be connected to anything.

so im dealing with this. looked at a post that has ohm values which im not seeing on any wire combination. my fan ad the wires from the plug dont match up color wise. on the fan i have a

orange
blue
black
yellow.
red
on the connector
orange
black
white
green
red.

it has at some point been repaired as what i found when opened up was a broken zip ties and 5 butt connectors with nothing attached. trying to figure it out currently if anyone has some idea
