Yall don't know how elated I was to get a green checkmark over the engine icon and see the base map being loaded...Hmmm. Ya know this system is supposed to be good for 500 hp.

I might try an MSD Atomic on the War Machine if this is all it is cracked up to be.

Me too... it was eating away at me all day at the office.

There's about a dozen items on the checklist before she pulls out of dry dock... some easy, others somewhat involved but nothing too heavy. Nonetheless, I'm thinking by year's end she'll be driveable.

This day is ending on another good note... the big brown truck just pulled up and delivered my 'misdirected' package from NPD... arm rests, a TSS and glovebox for the 71, hood moulding clips, and assorted detail items. I'll be able to sleep like a log but I'm still amped from today's events.

It's getting there...

Spent today, the winter solstice by the way (least amount of daylight), addressing more small details:
  • Reinstalled the hood lip moulding. It turns out that eight clips are needed and i only ordered six... apparently the catalogs meant six was just for the long center piece. I reused two salvageable clips... 'glad I didn't throw them out.
  • Ran the brake light wiring to the brake light switch on the Wilwood prop valve. Checks out good.
  • Tidied up more underhood wiring.
  • Installed a 6-gauge ground from the intake to the cab. VERY important apparently. I was getting some strange symptoms like no lights at all and the fuel pump charging up when the wiper switch was turned on. More grounds to install later.

I've got almost two weeks off coming up and that will be the time to finalize the exhaust.

By the way, can anyone confirm the stock wheel width? I've read found references to both 5.5 inches and 6 inches. I think the door sticker says 5.5 but that may reference the bolt pattern . I measured from bead to bead and it appears to be 5.5 inches wide.

Really? First I've heard of this. Where on the intake, the manifold?

Yuuup. It's stock on an FE and I'm sure others. The OEM bonding wire was toast with all the insulation cracked and peeling. There is a stud dead nuts center on the firewall and threaded bosses on the intake. The boss takes the same size/thread as a valve cover bolt. Some weird gremlins and odd voltage measurements at the fuse box without it.
