AE test on my injectors
I performed the cylinder contribution test and looked at the change in rotaional velocity of all 8. Here are the results of the CRV. #1, .9-1.4 #2, 0-.4 #3, .1-.8 #4, 0-.4 #5 .9-1.7 #6, 0 #7, 0 #8, 4.9-5.9. When I did the CCT it gave code P0284 "cylinder 8 injector circuit contribution/balance fault.
The web site I bought my AE from explained that the CCT can mess up on cylinders #6 and #8. Is the code P0284 saying the #8 is trash or the test messed up? I think from my CRV readings #8 is trash. Besides buying new injectors which is in the plans but not this year, what can I do to fix this?

Not to worry. The grey CPS gives bad CCT & CRV readings for #8 and sometimes #3. That CPS can also give phantom codes.
Nolan (4inchlovin) found this Ford Special Service Message.
When I run this CPS it always passes CCT and great readings on CRV.

Also, just so everybody is on the same page (although it will continue to be misconstrued FOREVER)....
A cylinder contribution test DOES NOT SPECIFICALLY TEST THE INJECTORS!!!!!! If it were the case, the test would be called something along the lines of "injector test".
"CMP" is the CORRECT OBD2 terminology for "camshaft position sensor". "CPS" is something that the internet forums have come up with and it's technically a misnomer.

But since we are on an internet forum, CPS is a good abbreviation for "camshaft position sensor". While it may not be technically correct, it's not exactly misleading. The internet is full of abbreviations and shortcuts. Have you ever read a text message from someone younger than 20? That makes the CMP vs. CPS talk seem trivial.
