I found a Saginaw pump

I found one on a 4.9L 91 E150. 1FTEE14Y4MHA86773
I was wondering what I need to take from it to make the install on my 1981 Bronco with a 4.9L easier? Or do you think that is possible?

1.Bracket?
2.Lines?

Completely possible. Take it bracket, and all. If the high-pressure hose is in decent shape you might as well take it too. The attachment to the steering gear may require a fitting adaptor. Otherwise, the bracket and the pump are the biggest necessities for the swap.

Grey thanks.
I am going to tackle it this weekend and then I will find out what I need.
I will keep you guys posted if anyone else wants to try.
Also anyone else that has done the swap advise please.

I think I am trying to go get it tomorrow.

I was just thinking about this, since I'll be going out to a yard soon to look for one.
Curious about how an EFI era Saginaw PS pump would work on a carb era.

The biggest thing I could think about was the belt setup, since it'd be going from an individual V belt, to a serpentine belt.

Would just a swap of the pulley from your old pump work?

You should try and locate a pump that already came from the belt set-up you need to avoid any problems, but I believe the main difference is in the bracket.

I did this on my Bronco by using the bracket off of a 94 E series van IIRC.

Obviously the correct belt setup pump is the best solution, but is the other acceptable?

Finding a E-Van with a 300 is hard enough.

Ya the bracket I thought was going to be the hard part along with finding a E-Van with a 300 but I just kinda started to look at the pull a part and found that 91 with a 4.9L.
I think I will try it. Just figure out things when I get to the problem. I am sure there will be a few.

Research time!!

It shouldn't be hard at all to shim one to run the a v belt. However if you plan to run a serpentine belt then id get one set up for that.

Well I got the pump and bracket. The bottom four bolts mount up along with one on the front of the block. Do I need to make some more effort in getting more bolts to work.
I am only running the P/S pump not the A/C.

I mean I might just need to wait until I find an older E-van with a bracket that is more in sync with my 81 300 I6.

Abandoned, if you can fit the V type pulley in the pump I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work.

Well, I lucked out yesterday. There were 3 vans in the yard. 2 had V8s and 1 had an I6. The I6 was carb'd and had the single belt setup for everything. Nabbed the whole setup (bracket, pump, hoses) for $28.
I'll be putting it in today.

Hope your install goes well too Capt!
