Should I start with a flush and fill/ new filter and Lucas transmission fix? I have heard you can reset the main computer.

Here is a great method for transmission fluid replacement, written by Mark Kovalsky. Click Here!
I did it back when my truck still had the automatic in it. It didn't fix my problem, which I only found out later was being caused by a P0500, but it did work nicely and easily to replace all of the fluid. I would recommend this method.
