Replacement harness

Is anybody making new original wire harness for our trucks '73 f-100' that are not GM copy ? I would like to replace all inside the engine compartment and have it look original. I know i can replace the wires by just getting a few rolls of it or get a replacement that uses GM connectors ect.,but then it's not original looking. I wanted to put in a custom steering column, same thing,GM crap.--

No one makes an "original Harness", but Ron Francis and Centech Wiring make Ford Harnesses that do have Ford connectors. They aren't cheap though, but that's for a complete harness. I'd maybe give them a call and tell them what you are looking for. I have the Centech complete harness and while I had to run each wire, all the connectors were Ford and wires labeled.

There are several harnesses, the main one being the underdash harness. The others are accessory harnesses.
Some dealers and obsolete suppliers still have some of the accessory harnesses. I struck out trying to find an NOS dash harness for my own project (also a '73 F100) and the frame harness that runs to the rear along the frame rail, but I did find all the other harnesses.
Let me know the specifics of your truck and I'll search for a harness.
On the main harness the biggie is does it have alt and oil press. gauges or idiot lights.

I just want the ones in the engine compartment from the fire wall forward. They are getting grimy looking dry coverings and stiff just from heat and age. It looks like somebody has made some bad looking repairs around the alt. area. I just got the truck '73 f100 range ' a couple of days ago. Getting ready to pull the 360 /3 on the tree trany and replace with a 302/c4.
After selling my 79 S.C. along with the 79 f100 and 79 bronco, with plans to quit playing with old trucks,I found this 73 f100. Ha ha , so i guess i'm back in the game. Thanks to both of you, mikeOoOoO and bucks77ford, for the information. ___JIM__

There are four possibilities on the alternator wiring harness. I searched all four and no dealer or aftermarket supplier has any.
I did the same on my own '73 F100. It took nearly a year (and $175.00) to find one. Mine was for a truck with the gauges.
There are two other accessory harnesses in the engine compartment. One is the harness that connects the ign. coil, oil press. sender and water temp sender to the main harness. The second is the headlight harnesses (2). I did find some of them incase you're interested.
The inst wire harness is D4AZ-14289-R
Green Sales, Cincinnati, OH has 1 (800) 543-4959
NOS Parts Source, Olathe, KS has 1 (913) 220-5746
Greisel Ford, Okarche, OK has 1 (405) 263-7242

The headlight/marker light harness is D3TZ-13076-A You'll need two
Green Sales has 10
Wesley Obsolete Parts, Liberty, KY has 2 (606) 787-5293
JST Automtive, Lebanon, TN has 1 (615) 443-3086
Antique Auto Arlington, Arlington, TX has 1 (817) 275 2381

The first picture shows the alternator harness and the engine inst. harness. The second shows the headlight harness.
Just a note, the inst harness is sort of a semi-universal one The wires are actually longer than the originals. It works fine I just had to coil a small section to take up the slack.
