I just put some new plugs, wires, and a new cap and rotor on my 78, and I am simply amazed at how much better it runs now. This truck must have gone awhile without new plugs and everything else, because it sure feels a lot better now and man does it sound good . Anyone else have this experience, or just me?
Yeah, I'm guessing previous owner didn't really do regular maintenance on it. I've changed these parts on other vehicles, but never felt a difference quite like this. Even on my Dodge lol.
lol i noticed that too!!! i didnt even paint mine just wet sanded to get the paint back, like 70-100hp just doing that!!!
WELCOME TO FTE BUDDY!!! i did have the same thing happen too though, i picked my truck up and you could tell that whoever owned it didnt do regular maint eithe. cleaning up the carb if you havent done so, make grab some brake cleaner and check for vaccume leaks because the gaskets get brittle and can start leaking, change fuel filters, make sure air cleaner is good, and you have fresh oil and you should be solid!

Thanks man, I'm in the process of checking for vacuum leaks.
