I put 30K miles on mine since October 2010. I'll take that 1 MPG.

JT250 [LINK] Even with everything perfect on the truck, many studies have shown 1 item in the equation typically alters fuel economy by 30% - the right foot. I don't pamper the pedal perpetually, but I do practice some hypermiling techniques much of the time. I'm up to 17 city/hwy and my last long haul at 65 MPH with no wind gave me 19.5 MPG. I just discovered a bad HPOP, but I am using the AE to keep everything well maintained and learn good driving practices from the recorded driving data. My sig has links to my mods.

well guys, this is informative. it seems that as long as your hpop is healthy, if you spend most of your time cruising, your good. of coarse everything else has to be up to standard. so i'll take Cody's advice and leave it be. tired of spending money on it anyway. although the truck has become sort of a hobby. It is fun and relaxing for me when I work on it. I only use it on trips so its not a daily driver. it hasn't gone anywhere in 2 months, except to the store, just to keep it limber. I have a 650 dash on order from Clay that i will put hpop, lpop, and fuel press. guages in. did I say I was tired of spending money on it? I'm going under the valve covers to do the .50 mod and tighten things up,put on Clays boots, and install the ATS housing and stock wheel. I already have the 1.0 turbine housing, so it should breath a little better. we'll see. hope to get this done before RRE. I'm hoping to get live tuned if Jody is doing it. last I heard, he might not have time.

With that many miles it would be worth it.
I can definitely say it is not my right foot. I just took a 1200 mile round trip to new Mexico and got 14.5. That was at 70 MPH. At 70the my rpms are just below 2000the and my egts are 650you on flat ground. It doesn't matter if I.baby it I can't get mpgs any higher. They used to be better I don't know what happened. I.want to start reversing mods, but a
people with the same mods her better mileage so I know that's not it.

I recently hooked my AE up to a truck that was getting poor power and economy with similar mods as mine. The owner said his power/economy was good and it just faded out without any changes to the truck. The EBPS was toast and his MAP sensor thought the truck was at 6000ft elevation (he lives at sea level) - the MAP alone defuels the truck a bit. I really don't know what the bad EBPS will do exactly, but I'm sure it's not good. He's cleaning both this weekend in hopes of restoring his power/economy. He'll email me to let me know how it went and I'll share.

My ebps and map seem good. at idle they are around 14.8...which i beleive is correct because of atmospheric pressure. They stay pretty close to eachother all the time. The EBPS is consistently higher (1-3) than the Map.

That's about what I have - it was worth a shot. My brakes were dragging pretty bad, but replacing them didn't have a huge impact on the mileage - just the heat at the wheels. There's always the odo effect when you replace tires. How accurate is yours?

Mph is pretty dang close. Odo may be off compared to some things but which is correct. I assume if mph is right odo is there too. Brake don't drag bad just the normal sound when it spins an touches a little on uneven parts. Also have checked them with infrared thermal gun after driving.

I think my next thing is to be positive my transfer case is disengaging. I know my hubs do but I have some transfer case codes so maybe something wrong there.

Then check fuel pressure as I have never done that...then check compression. After those I will shoot myself.

i drive at 63 mph on the interstate, and can go through the gears up to that speed with about 3# of boost and cruise at about 2# on a mostly flat road. any way thanks for the info. your not really leaving are you? i like the way you confuse things with the facts.

Holy carp - I overlooked that! I don't run 63, but I run 65-67 at 4# and accel is 5-10# What's your boost if you bury your foot? My range is 0-40 and top-center is 20.

Tugly, remember, thats on a flat road. and at what i'll call sea level. 65 is still the same
2-3# but when i start doing more the wind resistance must start stacking up against it.
getting up to speed at 2-3# is boring to say the least, but it does help with mpg. also
anticipating stops and coasting. As for stomping on it, I don't, except for test runs after
I've done some work on it, and then from a rolling start of around 20 mph. It will push
a little over 30#, which is why I don't stomp on it. My truck is my RV, and thats how I drive it. I'm a little ridiculous about how I care for it, but i got it new, and I,m sure not
going to get a new one. I only tow a small trailer now and then and don't need a dually,
but back in 99 I had other plans. It sure is a stable ride with the stuff in the back though. I took the back seat out shortly after I got it and made a bunk, sure is nice on a long trip to be able to take a nap. My wife loves it. The 7 hr ride from jersey to west virginia is only about an hour for her. I only travel at night, haha.
