Gt40 Heads with Crane Cobra roller rocker
wondering is a Ford motor sport X 303 Roller cam and Gt40 Heads with Crane Cobra roller rocker out of a 2000 ish 5.0 mustang would fit on my 1973 351 windsor? If so would this be a good set up for a truck? any info would be great. thanks for your time.

No.. the cam is a bad mismatch for those heads on a 302 so it's an even worse match for a 351. My suggestion would be to substitute a flat tappet cam such as the Comp 35-234-3(so you don't need the additional roller parts) and sell the X cam to some other car guy.

Ha.. I completely missed that one. Yeah that could throw a monkey wrench into it, if it was a Y2K 5.0 it was from an Explorer/Mountaineer and that means those are P heads which are better performers but make fitting headers more "interesting". Or it could be that it was a Stang but the seller didn't really know what year it was and simply took a WAG at it.

The "P" heads came out in mid 97, so a 95 Cobra 5.0 should have the std GT40 iron heads. And with these particular heads (Cobra only) you need to watch how much you mill them, if that needs to be done, Ford gave them an extra pass on the milling machines before assembly to minimize the chamber volumes.

If they're iron GT40 heads off a 302, they will need the bolt holes drilled to 1/2". They do not have the extra bolt holes in the cooalnt ports like the 69-76 Windsor heads did. Your Performer intake lacks these extra holes too, so you're fine there.
