looked at 89 f250 4x2
went and looked at an 89 f250 xlt rclb 2 wheel drive was a 7.3 n/a but it is currently nothing lol.... he pulled the motor for his wrecker anyway i looked at it for a body parts truck its almost perfect really only things that i noticed were the mirrors had been forcibly removed from the doors... he hasn't said a price but said make him a reasonable offer... i offered him 600 for it and he said he don't know if he could take that because the tires alone he could probably get 300 for... i told him i wasn't concerned about the tires he could keep them and he said he would have to think about it.... i am not trying to rip him off and im not trying to get ripped off
what do you guys think? should i offer a little more?
or if he asks for more how much higher do you think i should go?
it has the trans in it (which im not interested in im thinking about telling him he can keep that too see if that helps on my price if not... does anyone need one? if i end up buying the truck.....

Ya whats the guys deal. He has a chassis with nothing in it what does he expect? I'd take that if you offered me that. Heck i bought my plow truck with plow for $400 dollars more running and everything. 4x4 zf5 speed. It's gas but still.

for reference i just picked up a 89 crew cab f350 4wd, 7.3l, auto with brand new tires for 1800 and drove it home...
not too bad of a deal and only had 136k on the clock with a ats 088 turbo in the back seat with all parts to install..

Tell him what your willing to pay, and tell him to think about it, and call you if he decides to sell it at the price you quoted him.
You'll likely receive a call from him in a few days, tell him there's another your going to look at.

My van, I paid 600$ for it, drove it home 2 hour trip.
Has 2 brand new GoodYear Silent Armor tires in the back...200$ each, new Rad, water pump, thermostat, exhaust, and 8 motorcraft glow plugs.
Body isn't perfect, but it's still damn good for what it is.

$600 for a shell is an awful lot unless its in primo shape. The truck is rolling scrap if its not running making it worth all of $125, unless he wants to part it and it doesnt sound like he does. It might be worth $600 to him with wheels and tranny but what matters is what its worth to whomever wants to buy it. Id tell him $300 with no tires / tranny, but thats just me i guess.

^^^^ like said, body better be mint.
Also depends on area also. If your in the salt belt. Someone will give 1k for a clean body, without an engine/tranny!
