Is this normal or am I in big trouble - ball joints?

If the tires are wearing like that, it needs to go in for an alignment. Take it to a commercial shop that does heavy duty trucks or buses, they know how to work on the TTB most modern shops don't, unless you know how to do it yourself. There is a adjustor on the axle where the top of the knuckle connects.

If something else is wrong, they will be able to tell you. Instead of guessing.
I haven't gotten around to it because I still need to replace my tie rods. I just rotate the tires for now.
