Ya Wolfie, I use the diesel O ring kit, twice. The O ring that goes on the inside of the pan, IMO, is to small in dieamater. You shove one side down into the grove, rotate that thing around to shove the other side into the grove and the opposite side pops out! Bob at DieselOrings said to use grease, I did and tried silicone, no luck. So I tried to center it and hoped it would pull itself into place as I tighten the nut, haha.

I'm pretty sure I have the fuel pump lifter floating in my pan.

No issues whatsoever.

I did the o-ring repair 1 year ago and is dry as a bone. I cleaned the inside flange with 3M cleaner then I sprayed some 3M spray tack on the o-ring, stuck it to the inside flange and RTV siliconed the outside before the washer and nut went on. I would never spend $300 on the new flange. Down the road if it leaks again I would do the repair again.
