Alright well I got all the rusty stuff cut out for the most part, getting ready to tack the floor pan in as well as reinforce the cab support. Then I can do some measurement and make sure everything is square before i mount the rocker and outer floor pan.

Mostly all cutout and ready for new pan

New floor pan after some tweaking to make it fit correctly

They should re-title this thread rusting and raging

Already looks better OP. What are you planning on doing to the metal from underneath when you're done, coating or rubberizing I mean.

You could just leave the hole, tell people it's emergency brakes.

i too, commend you for taking this on, i have experience with this stuff and i would of cab swapped myself. just keep in mind your time is worth something too! i just changed out my bed as after i cut out the arches to patch panel them the rot was way up into the upper bodyline. spend another 200 on panels for the same thing to reapear in a year? so i looked at 200 vs 550(bedcost) and did the bed change. as far as these trucks and yards. once they get to the yards they are either so bad they need to be crushed right away or they are picked clean right away

Looks great so far. I am really supprised that the cab corners don't have issues. As far as being in the the supply of these trucks I think it might as well be unlimited (considering the demand for them) especially ones that need lots of work. Thanks for posting the picks keep them up.

I think that would be an example of being disrespectful. I think he is perfectly happy with his paint job and not at all sore about it. It gets the job done for him. You saying it sucks is disrespectful.

Alright well taking a break, my back is killing me from being hunched over cutting and welding inside the cab. The hardest work is over, but there is still quite a bit left to do, I need to patch a couple holes the outer floor pan didn't cover and I need to get the cab corner all fitted and welded in.

Coming pretty well, of course it could always be better but I am trying to balance timeliness with quality.

I am going to POR 15 the underside of the cab and the frame once I am all done. I primed and painted the top of the frame and the cab mount before I welded the floors in. So The sides and bottom of the frame is all should be all that need to get hit.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!!! its been a long day and i've had enough for today. Here are a few of the last pictures before I cleaned up, did some more spot welds and then patched the corner up by the hood release. The outer floor pan didn't go far enough toward the front of the truck so I had to put a patch in there and extend the channel below the weather stripping (total pain in my ***).

Tomorrow I will finish up the floors, few more little things and then another 1 or 2 passes of spot welds. Then I have to tackle the cab corner and make sure my door still shuts lol. Oh an I am going to dyna-mat the floors to help with noise.

This is definitely my first time doing anything like this. I am usually doing mechanical work not body work and welding. I think its actually coming along pretty damn good.

If the gaps are too far off there's going to be no way to adjust it after you're finished.

Ambitious project!
Good luck.
