April, 2012 Junk Yard Wishlist

This was a neat idea, thanks again to lgwilson for suggesting this!

Last month's will be unstuck & closed.

Post your wants & needs here, even if they were on last month's list; there's enough chatter on the old one it gets hard to know if somebody is still needing a part or not without reading through the entire thing.

Please keep monetary-transaction talk amongst yourselves - in PMs or e-mail.

It's fine if we want to give/sell things to each other but we can't be running a Flea Market or Auction House here, that's against the spirit of what we do here - people helping each other.

You might also check out the 80-86 Truck Parts - Free to a good home thread.

There should be two of them and both should be mounted right to the A/C compressor where the hoses attach to it. I will look for some pics.

Looking in vain for a bell housing

I am looking for a bell housing for a 1985 f250. The motor is a 460 and the housing is the cast aluminum that fits a t18 with the slave mounts. Found one but, it is the cast iron that is for the slave on the inside if some one needs it. Cost me $130 and had to have it shipped up here from Oregon.

Where are you at Warren?

The 460 never had the internal slave cylinder.
It may have had a mechanical linkage back when they were only available 2wd.

The hydraulic bells seem rare as hens teeth.
I know I snapped the slave boss off mine once.

Sold my spare and I regret it now.

Thats them Bill! I need those . The part that bolts to the compressor and the part that is threaded onto them. That pic shows it perfect. Do you still have them?

No, they went to RockWVU for his 86 crew cab 460. He may have an extra set since he needed the compressor. I left them on it, closed to seal the oil and some of the R134a inside for shipping.

460's were only available with an automatic transmission back when there were mechanical linkage clutches.
All factory 460 manuals had a hydraulic clutch with an external slave cylinder.
There is a large 'U' shaped boss just in front of the throwout arm window.
A 351M/400 bell housing would have a mechanical linkage and the same big block bell housing bolt pattern.
These don't have a boss to cradle the slave cylinder.

Hydraulic bellhousing...
