I think that the answer is NO.
I have two 1 TB external drives.
I back up to one of them every week.
Two means that even if one dies I have the other with a file loss of no more than 2 weeks.
I recently lost my internal drive and had to replace it.
I took the opportunity to start with a pristine install of Win7 pro.
No crapware at all.
OS, Browser, Antivirus. Firewall and some Diagnostics.
It's amazing how fast my computer is now and it's 6 years old.

Pretty sure the hard drive is taking a dump. Electronics aren't my bag, I work a lot better with bricks & rocks

Hell if it goes UPS it will be even more broken, like into pieces.
Just sent me the drive and mother board.
I'll stick them into a case I have laying around and check 'em out.
