I took some measurements today while I had my tape measure out. it's 2" O.D. tube. The main hoop is just under 6 feet long, believe it or not. The cross bar is 32" long. They don't look that big, do they?

The cross bar is 24 inches plus about half the bend radius on each side or 7 inches. Therefore, 32 inches is about right.
Based on my calcs, these are the bends based on a 7-inch radius:
Desired project dimensions:
--------------------------
Length #1 = 18 inches (angled upright) Angle #1 = 82°
Length #2 = 24 inches (crossbar) Angle #2 = 82°
Length #3 = 18 inches (angled upright)
Bend Mark #1 = 12.90 inches Angle #1 = 82°
Bend Mark #2 = 34.75 inches Angle #2 = 82°
Cut Off Mark = 57.70 inches
I recommend bending the main hoop first and then the bends at the lower mounts last. They aren't as critical. Thererefore, increase the lengths above by enough so the bender has something to hold on to. I figure it'll take at least an 8-foot length of tube.
Before releasing the tube, measure the outside spread along the tube where it will be bent back to meet the bumper. The tubing center lines should be about 3.5 to 4 inches more than the measurement between the lower bumper mounting bolts.
Silver, great minds think alike. That's the way I was going to do it. The rolling chassis for the '66 takes precedence over this side project, but it looks like that's on track for this weekend unless I hit a major snag. I hope to have a prototype by Monday or Tuesday.
If it's the same style as the factory one and the price was right. Meaning comparable to say an ordinary aftermarket one. Yeah I'd be interested. But with that said. I'm more of a factory bumper guard kinda guy.
I like the one on my truck. Soon,it will be removed, cleaned up and sent away to get a rechroming. Makes these trucks look badass!Wish I knew the name of the company that made it..
I,myself, like the aftermarket one you posted..
Those were made by Luverne Truck Equipment Home and were available in chrome or white. My Dad & my brother each bought a brand new F150 in 1979 and both had the white grille guards put on. The white ones sold for $150 if I remember correctly. They had a decal on top of the upper bar that said "Luverne". Those grille guards are super hard to find now. I would really like to find some for a couple of project trucks that I have…..I have been looking but no luck.
