what about the width of the dash? is it wider then the 66 cab? id imagine you could cut the firewall and floor out of the 11 and weld it into the 66. I understand not wanting to cut the 66 cab up but you were bound to hit something that wasn't going to be easy. sounds like that thing it the interior with the way you want to do it. so you have other options that are easier. Why not mount the 11 column on the 66 dash and mount the Instrument cluster in the 66 dash and literally zip tie everything else under the 66 dash that spiders out of the instrument cluster and other modules? Ive got a friend with a 55 Chevy truck with a tuned port engine in it from a corvette. he has all the corvette modules zip tied under the dash. ugly but works and its still impressive swap. same concept.
this way you dont have to swap an 11 interior and you can keep the 66 interior your daughter likes so much!

Unknown if it will work at this time but an attempt is in progress.
Again if I CANNOT integrate the 2011 A/C unit into this truck I am not interested in the build. Its already in the 90's here and A/C is a gotta have since the only older veh i have with a/c is the light blue truck but its 48yrs old.
That 20% of me is still wanting this to happen. I expected snags and of course however long I think something will take add x10.
To All, Prior to me getting closer measurements of will it fit this past Monday morning I ordered a new Frame from FoMoCO. Paid up front and NOT refundable! It really made me sick thinking it could be a total waste of $$.
Over the last couple days I have been removing more parts from the Eco. It is simply amazing how well thought out the design is on that truck. Yes a bit labor intensive for something like a Heater Core change but if it goes a couple hundred thousand miles no problem. It is pretty much all Plug & Play with color coded harnesses that do not interchange.
I have spent a couple days also putting a book together, for instance if its time to remove the heater & a/c assembly I refer to a DVD Shop Manual then review and print/save the pages and put them in my little book. Try to take a few pictures too.
I sure wish I had some more help to do this all. (a friend did stop by yesterday for a few hours) The dash assy must be 150lbs so a lot of this is a 2 guy job and even says so in the shop manual.
The magic thing is going to be in order to clear the engine yet allow these electronics to fit in the dash of the '66 and still have room to sit and drive.

Right now if someone were to come by and help me remove the '66 floor and firewall assembly they could HAVE the '66 FLoor. We could then figure out how to get it to you/them. That should not be so difficult.
If I have to remove it by myself, sorry to say but it will probably get cut up. Air Chisel time . . . Shame but what else to do.
This will be the 3rd NICE floor and cab corners gone to the dumpster . . . What a shame to see all those rust buckets out there getting patched together when nice floors do exist. (in general)

But after a few phone calls and emails found they want 190.00 for 2 badges.
Included was what I thought a HUGE setup fee so THEY could turn around and use the money I paid for setup with MY design to then sell the badges to anyone else who wanted them at a discounted price!
So get this. My design, they wanted me to pay for initial setup so THEY could profit. Not that I expected for them to sell a lot but just the thought of me coming up with another design and then getting charged so they could turn a profit...
In other words It would be costing me FAR MORE for the badges than if joeshmoe off the street ordered them after I did. What a way to do business on someone else's dime.
I still may get a couple "EcoSlick" badges made but the attitude did not sit well with me. Maybe its just "my" attitude with all the stress right now.
Nothing wrong with EcoBoost badge on the tailgate right now!
That reminds me of the formulated ford engine blue I did a while back. I had found a NOS air cleaner and took it to paint store to have the color formulated. The paint store charged me 150.00 to come up with a formula card. A few months later I was back at paint store when someone walked in and asked for more of the Formulated Ford Blue! So the paint store charged me 150.00 but yet was reaping HUGE profits for something I had paid for. I simply made them give me the Formula card I had paid for and walked out. Have never returned . . . Mind you they promised in beginning that it was MY formula. Now had they just mixed the paint and charged a small fee then go ahead and sell it to the world. I think thats why this badge deal went south it reminded me of the paint store.

If you are serious would be happy to send you a airline ticket!
Wish I would have met you and Jeff when I first moved there instead of when I was packing my bags to move.
USAirways has a non stop to phx a couple times a day. Just tell me when!
The new FoMoCo 125.9" Wheel base frame should be here next monday . . .
Then the chassis can be completed. Have a few plans for it too!

EcoBoost TearDown.
Further teardown of the F150 Eco started to help me decide if its possible to still make it happen some how.

We might be able to work something out . . . As the last 2 I really do not want to cut it up. Far too nice for that.
There is always someone going across country that has room...

Ford Racing says that any EcoBoost harness is a minimum of 1 YEAR out!
When I told the Ford Racing tech line guy I would somehow figure it out he just laughed... Pretty much a good luck lottsa luck deal.
When I asked him about the EcoBoost Hot Rod FoMoCo built he put me on hold for a spell then came back and said that was a ONE OFF deal by Ford and that Ford Racing had nothing to do with it. He also made comment that good luck getting anything out of Ford.
In other words it just aint gonna happen!
I will post back when I get it running . . . LOL
In the mean time I will just go work on the Scooter I have had since 1964, pull that out of the cobwebs instead. I do not recall that to have fancy computer's or a difficult wiring harness with speed sensors for the wheels and a weight sensor in the seat for air bag deployment.
Anyone want to buy a ecoboost cheap?

I have a few things up my sleeve to try to make it happen, I do not give up that easily. There is still a chance I can make it work and will not rule it out 100% until I exhaust all avenue's.
I probably will not post more about the swap until I am confident it can be done.
In hindsight I probably should have waited to post until I was further ahead. I was just excited about starting the project. Not many here seem to be excited about the swap for some reason. Unless one has actually driven a 4x2 F150 ecoboost its hard to imagine what it would be like in a truck thats 1000lbs lighter.
In the past I have been more against any 6cyl than most so this is a 180 turn for me.
Major Obstacles
Will the Firewall from 2011 fit along with at least a partial floor pan. If that does not happen this build will not happen. Not only does it have to fit but location for cab position is also important.

Not a 100%. I have been hearing far too many times its not possible to do what I want to do with this truck. Even Ford Racing laughed.

the objective
I'm thinking this is a body retrofit, eco-boost frame and running gear with 66 metal. At that point, the onus is on the skin metal, which has already been re-engineered 12 ways to sunday, in many projects. Will it fit? hell no.\Can it fit?
Hell yes.
Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, its just too cool to abandon.
