2/9 here. pretty obvious this truck was not RED originally. Too many years have gone by to know what really went on back then. I was thinking a original AZ truck would have come from San Jose vs Texas..

Auto and Dual Mirrors on firewall. Auto for Auto Trans I would guess. A lot of grease pencil markings all over this truck.

Thanks for the update on it. Your truck always reminded me of my dads he was the second owner of it bought it in the 80's. The original owner (still lives 3 miles away) he ordered it candy apple red and white custom cab short bed and in 67-68 he decided the 352 didn't have enough power and he knew some one in Oregon who had 67 gt500 who hit a poll with it and was parting it out so he Swapped that engine in. Unfortunately my dad never ended up with the 427 it was swapped back out to a 390gt before he bought it.

Eco2 gets 2017 F-250 wheel swap. I still have stock steel wheel along with a set of chrome steel that have been on it for many years.

These are so when the need arises I can have a bit more traction for that 1/4 mile pass.
Tires are GoodYear F1's. Prob not good for the BEST MPG and not quite sure how a larger tire will work on front with stock steering but will see. Same size tire as used on Eco1.

Eco1 being used as my daily driver.

Nearing 7000 miles so far.

That really is some nice work. Is that the radiator or intercooler hanging down that low in front? Afraid of road debris at all?

That is so dang cool! Such amazing work. Getting to drive it has to be the best reward.

Thanks! Its the intercooler, only place it would possibly fit and still be in airstream. I do have a AirDam for highway use but it looks a bit too modern so do not always have it on. Do have to be careful about hitting a curb etc but I built the tanks out of 1/8" aluminum so should take a decent bump without damage.

Thanks! 7000 miles so far and pure bliss driving it. Taking my 2nd trip to california in next couple weeks. Great cruiser with a 3.15 gear and 3 overdrive gears. 85 mph is around 2100 rpm. Still gets 19 mpg at high speeds. Could not be happier in how it drives. Now the big chore will be to tear it apart for paint. Gettin' OLD so not sure when that will happen as have 2 other '66 trucks to paint first. No doubt winding down on fixing/repairing/restoring stuff.

Well hey, if these projects are your "going out" projects, I'd say you did good. After everything you went through, especially physically with your health, it's a serious accomplishment.

Eco1 has been sold!

I sold Eco1 a week ago Saturday!
best veh I have owned out of 300+ vehicles
i put just over 11,000 miles on it. Simply too many large projects to get done.

Started back on Eco2 this past Friday & have parts on order for the Orange/White 427 shortbed.
Decided to make some major changes to 427 truck to make it more “drivable “
pic when I figure out how.

Hate to see it go, but love to watch it leave...
It sucks to sell such an awesome build, but it opens up your time to get back on other projects. Keep us in the loop. We are always anxious for progress pics.
