I have to say I am quite surprised there is no adjustment for this issue, and a way to put the key back in.

BTW- I'll have you all packed up tomorrow or so. Been busy at work.

no no, the expeditions atleast 97-98 are different(i'm sure 97-02 are the same) and have a nut that holds it on. this other style used on explorers, excursions uses a clip...much better design!!!

i know this because i have a '98 expedition also and have had the issue of the pass side one coming loose.

Your right. It did have a nut, but it was just splines in the pot metal wiper frame. The splines had worn off on my wiper and no matter how much you would tighten that but, it would eventually spin. A keyway would fix that....

one trick i learned selling used cars(real affordable ones lets say) is to drill a hole in the arm and mount when its in the position you want, and then tap the hole when you take it off and get a small machined screw from HD or lowes to put in there, it wont move then even with stripped out splines on both sides.

AlaskanEx- Thanks for posting info on these. I just got my sets today and this great for my rear wipers. Perfect amount of pressure to get the job done right. The company "Surewipe" on Ebay couldnt be better to work with... He sent me a little "gift" for my wife's car too.

so i really got to try it out tonight on the rear wiper. one of my issues before was snow build up on the back window and the wiper not pushing it out of the way. it would just slide over the top of the snow. well now with alittle more pressure it works great. also using the defroster helps haha but i'm very happy with this product.
