OK, I posted this yesterday but some how it disapeered so I'll try again. Linda and I have been talking to the lady at General Butler State Park here in northern Ky. She wanted me to wait till after they had all of their holiday parties out of their way because we ain't till next fall. So here we go. She is putting together information for motel, cabin and camping prices, haven't got to see the cabins yet as all were rented the day we went down to talk to them but they look real nice and would work great, one group of cabins sit on a cul- de- sack and hopefully those are the ones we could get, camping area is real close( walking distance ) but motel is on top of the hill about 1/2 mile away. Restaurant is same location as motel and all kinds of restaurants within 1 mile. It is a real nice small park but should be really good for our:oval get together. It is 45 miles from Louisville, Ky. and 65 miles from Cincinnati, Oh off exit 44 on I 71 along the Ohio River so according to the Kentucky Speedway we are within a 10 hour drive of nearly 1/3rd of the population of the US so no excuses for not attending. We should have some concrete information real soon so hang in there, Homade.
This might be a possibility for me next year. I have made the trip down to Louisville a few times now for work, just have to get the 48 done and reliable by next fall.
If I avoid highways it's 477 miles and 10 1/2 hours with a regular vehicle.
I hope to make it there with my truck. That is if my wife doesn't lock me up for thinking about a trip like that.
