2003 6.0 stumble, worse cold, tach jumps/bounces during stumble
Im a Duramax guy that ended up with a 2003 F350. It's a nice truck but I'm chasing an issue and having little luck.
It has 203000 miles on it. Appears to have head head gaskets done and said to have new injectors.
During this lat winter, the truck would start and run as smooth as can be even on the coldest mornings. When driving, it would stumble. The stumble would start around 1400 rpm or so and when it acts up the tach will act erratic. As the truck would comeup to temp, it would still do it but not until higher rpm, around 1900 or 2000 rpm. It did have a code in it pointing towards number 4 injector it atone time buti don't remember the number. It had also set a cam sensor code atthe same time.
I recently replaced the number 4 injector with no change ( I was not expecting much)
I also recently noticed that the alt was not charging. I had amperage, but no voltage output. I replaced it and now have 13.5 volts offidle. FICM volts hover around 48.2 all the time. I'm using a Genesis version 3.0 and it's not very fast on the refresh rate but I can't see it loosing voltage, icp pressure stays with desired as well. Now I can't getting reset any codes. With the weather warm now ~70 degrees here, the issue won't show up till 2200 rpm.
The turbo passes all the self tests I can do with the scanner and judging by the change in pitchof the exhaust at idle, the vanes are working fine. It never smokes at all when this happens either.
I have changed the oil and botsh fuel filters and put rev-x in. I admit I'm not a Ford guy, but i'm open to ideas.

I'm still chasing this. Checked FICM harness and found a rub issue near the center connector, insulated and no change. My CMP/CKP sync will go to NO anytime the thing acts up, I an get it to do it when power braking or moving down the road, never misses a beat out of gear or when not under load. On the scanner, I also can see the rpm fluctuate same as tach is when it happens. For kicks, I did swap the cam sensor with no change. Input?

This gona be a harder one to figure out
FYI just cuz FICM at 48Volts dont mean its good still could be BAD your bad alternator may have hurt it
Are you able to do a Injector Buzz Test??
The Part that concerns me is CMP/CKP is in sync then acts up and is NOT in Sync anymore. IDK if this is the problem or a result of the problem
Do you have OEM OIL FILTER CAP and OEM OIL FILTER must be 100% shure on thhis if dont know ask
Here it is anyway this thread has Both style Caps so make shure what you have

Both fuel filters have been replaced. The oil has been changed, RevX added as well. I've put a little over 3000 miles on this truck since I've had it. It had sat for a year the guy told me, unsure why.
The OEM filter cap, I'm not gonna promise it is, but the Motorcraft filter did snap to it if that matters.
I was going to unplug the IPR and try it based on some advice from a good friend that works on these, but have not wiggled my hands to it yet. I've got another known good FICM coming to at least try it, not holding my breath, but thats where I'm at with it.
