Odd Question

I have a 2003 F-350 regular cab and after 258,000 miles the seat is pretty much done on the drivers side. I have a spare bench seat that was redone out of my 81 F-250 at a warehouse. So before I drive over there with a tape measure has anyone ever put a older bench seat in their truck? It will only be temporary as I will get the other seat reupholstered, but I would like it to be safe and not just rigged in the truck.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'm pretty sure the older seats are a wee bit narrower, and it seems I remember someone telling me that the older seat won't bolt to the newer seat frames. I'm pretty confident that the older frames won't match up with the newer floor though, so you might be drilling. Let us know what you find out though!
